Julie Niemi began working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder in 2011 as a paraprofessional, summer camp counselor and respite care worker. About 8 years ago, she began working as a behavior technician and fell in love with the science behind applied behavior analysis. Julie received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Oakland University and then continued at Oakland University to receive her master’s degree in special education with a concentration in applied behavior analysis. Julie has worked in a variety of settings including public schools, psychiatric hospitals and clinical settings. Julie specializes and particularly enjoys working with teens and adults with ASD. In her free time, Julie loves to spend time with her family, including her young son. Julie also enjoys playing soccer, walking her dog and being with friends.
